I’m happy to report that all my favorite details from Kelly and Andrew’s outdoor wedding ceremony continued right on into their reception! Add romantic candelabras and a slew of personal touches and we have one exquisite reception from Atrendy Wedding and Deb Lindsey! Nothing says romance like tables dripping in candles, roses and sparkle, am I right? I’ll let you decide!
From Kelly: We tried to incorporate little personal touches throughout the wedding. We met and lived in New York for most of our relationship, so we chose subway stops for the table numbers. I’m from Maryland, and Andrew is from Pittsburgh. During cocktail hour we had a Maryland food station, and a Pittsburgh food station.
I chose Congressional because I thought it was a stunning venue, and didn’t want the décor to overpower it. Anne and Shawn, from Beehive, did a fantastic job helping me achieve this. I loved the candelabra trees we used for centerpieces, they complimented the chandeliers perfectly!
We moved to Arizona about halfway through our engagement, so the best part of the wedding was getting to see our friends again. Perhaps my favorite personal touch was a guest musical performance by our friends’ band. We went to see them play often when we lived in NYC, and both missed going to their shows after we moved to Phoenix. They were awesome, and it almost felt like we back in NYC for those three songs.
Kelly’s advice to other DC-area couples:
Read blogs! They were amazingly helpful during the planning process. And seriously consider hiring a planner. Anne made things so much easier, particularly on the day of. It was great to be totally done thinking about the details on the actual day.
