We’re back with more classic decor and preppy details in part two of Katharine and Brad’s Virginia country club wedding from Kristen Gardner Photography. (Did you check out their wedding ceremony?) I love the little details that Katharine and Brad, like the drink flags and the patterned table numbers. These items brought in those “prep-tastic” colors, while the rest of the decor stayed classic, elegantly white.
From Katharine: We had straw flags that read Cheers and Prosst (cheers in german). My family is Canadian/German. We had specialized cocktails and just little touches like that.
The main priority was just for everyone to have a good time and to make this a celebration of us with our family and friends.
Our reception was so much fun from the speeches to gangam style dance off on the dance floor.
Sit down with your fiancee and priortize what is important. Also start looking early at venues. September/October is a hot month to get married in. Use any connections that you have from a friend in the hotel business or wedding business to a crafty family friend. Lastly, remember at the end of the day its about the two of your so don’t let family push you in one direction or another. Stand your ground.
