I think Aviva perfectly describes her Maryland wedding, captured by Photography by Susie, as “an elegant country garden party.” They started their day with a sweet first look and a very traditional Jewish ceremony before heading into their reception tent which was swathed in the prettiest palette of mints and pinks awaited. Along with a glorious selection of pies. Bon appetit!
From Aviva: Our wedding was an elegant country garden party. Most importantly we wanted everyone to be comfortable and have fun! Our cool and quirky invitations were designed by our good friend Chava Weisberg. She even created a QR code that led our guests to our wedding website where they could easily RSVP.
We’re so happy we chose to have a first look! Spending time together before the ceremony made both of us feel so much more relaxed.
We really wanted an outdoor venue. Avery is a rock climber and I work for an environmental non-profit so of course we wanted our wedding in a natural setting.
We chose to have a traditional Jewish ceremony because we were both brought up in orthodox Jewish households. The simple tallit canopy and the hebrew ceremony represented our families culture and history.
Aviva’s advice to other DC-area couples:
We were dating long distance while planning our wedding, Avery was a living in West Virginia and I in New York City. With the wedding in Maryland, planning was not always easy, but we had a lot of trust and communication.
The following Washington, DC area wedding vendors contributed to Aviva and Avery’s wedding:
