We are all things red with love this week and we are coming at you with part two of Carly and Tim’s Maryland wedding from Roberts & Co. Events! (Did you see their Russian Orthodox wedding ceremony?) You can talk all you want about how their tables popped with red, their delicious desserts or their rockin’ dance party but I am stuck on one detail. Those string art signs! How amazing is that sign, and the table numbers to match!? I can’t get enough, and I bet you can’t either.
From Carly: We wanted to have a personal and fun wedding. We added details to make it more us and took out typical wedding things that didn’t seem to matter.
A few favorite moments were walking into our reception to the theme song of How I Met Your Mother to see a tent full our favorite people, and when our nieces (3 and 4) lead a group of dancing people with their rendition of Call Me Maybe.
Carly’s advice to other DC-area couples:
Remember that it is your wedding and to focus on the things important to you as a couple. There are a lot of opinions that can come out during wedding planning and we found it best to stick to, and up for, what was important to us. We listened to our gut when it came to choosing vendors and weren’t disappointed with a single one. We each came up with three priorities and then discussed. We found that having everyone we wanted there, the location, and photography were the most important to us. Even during our wedding we ended up ditching some things because we didn’t want to stop the dance party
Remember that this isn’t Pinterest and things will probably go wrong. I couldn’t get the picture I wanted, I forgot my speech, ,and the weather was due to storm just as our ceremony was beginning, but in the end you just married the love of your life in front of your important people and THAT is what matters.
