We are kicking this first week of February off with an amazing two-day Virginia wedding from Photographick Studios! Renee and Ramsey celebrated their Indian and Syrian cultures and their Northern California home with two deeply contrasting, but equally beautiful, days of ceremonies and receptions. First, we have their Christian wedding ceremony and reception, which were both DIY affairs, held at a vineyard (They love wine!) and filled with rustic details! You may see a few hints to the second day of their marriage popping up here and there, but you’ll have to wait until this afternoon to see it!
From Renee: Our wedding was weekend-long celebration of our love and our Indian and Syrian cultures.
We both loved the henna! I chose to do an arabic, large floral style on my hands and feet, instead of the denser, more detailed Indian style. I think it matched perfectly with the Modern Indian aesthetic of the Hindu Ceremony. Ramsey even got into the spirit! He got a tribal henna tattoo on his shoulder.
For the Christian ceremony, we chose a country rustic, winery setting, which reminded Ramsey of his childhood home in Western Pennsylvania. That and we’re also avid wine drinkers (especially living close to Northern California’s famous wine country)! Our favorite part about this ceremony was the decor and dessert. The mutual friend that brought us together three years ago graciously volunteered to do our decorations and dessert. She knew us and our style, so we gave her full creative freedom. And she captured our rustic, DIY, California- style perfectly!
We both loved our first dance on the day of the Christian ceremony. We had taken dance lessons from a friend, but we were still nervous about our first dance. As soon as we started dancing, the nervousness went away, and we just focused on the moment. We nailed it– spins, dips, and all!
