DC brides in need of the perfect venue, take note! This is our first virtual venue tour of the year and we’re venturing to the Mandarin Oriental Washington DC today. We are showing the types of elegant, simple or extravagant wedding you can have there – right in the middle of the city’s hustle and bustle that is close enough to all the monuments for quick portrait stops! If a city venue with both outdoor (Think courtyard with a view!) and indoor (Hello, ballrooms that exude grandeur!) options accommodating guest counts from 80 to 900, this may just be the place for you.

Thanks to k. thompson photography and Readyluck Photographers we have two stunning weddings to show you just the kind of celebration you can have at this luxurious hotel!

Natasha and Ravi utilized everything the Mandarin Oriental had to offer for their two ceremonies and glamorous reception photographed by k. thompson photography. They held a courtyard ceremony (The space holds up to 300 guests), overlooking the Washington Marina, Tidal Basin and Jefferson Memorial and turned one of the venue’s ballrooms into a rich and inviting space for their second ceremony. Before moving into one of two ballrooms for dinner and dancing, the foyer can be utilized for an intimate cocktail space, just as this duo did.

The spectacularly decorated hotel makes for many a wonderful portrait and first look sighting, as do DC’s landmarks just outside the doors. If you love the courtyard and it’s views too much for just one part of your wedding, you can use it for your cocktail hour as well (Or for an outdoor cocktail style reception with up to 500 guests!). Here, Patra and Anthony also took advantage of the neutral, sophisticated hues the Mandarin Oriental already boasts when decorating their reception space adding just a few pops of purple to the mix. Check out their photos from Readyluck Photographers.

If you’re having a small wedding, or would like to host your rehearsal dinner right there too, you can take advantage of the hotel’s working art gallery. Invite up to 80 guests and enjoy the patio and DC sites just outside!
