There was no lack of Kelly and Robert’s choice wedding color in wedding reception (Did you see it shine in the wedding ceremony on the bay from Meaghan Elliott Photography?), with a tented celebration swathed in summery blue and white. Far and away my favorite part of their day was their favors. You see the duos new last name is Glaze, so in an ode to that they gave out glazed donuts! Now, that’s how you make your wedding personal!
Our goal was to set a very romantic, “happily ever after” feeling throughout the ceremony and reception.
Our favors were glazed donuts, a nod to our last name, Glaze. They were my favorite detail. They were delicious, adorable, and matched our theme perfectly. Five months later and guests are still telling me how much they loved our favors!
Kelly’s advice to other DC-area couples:
The best advice I can give is to talk to past patrons of the venue and vendors. Don’t just use website feedback, go the distance and ask for contact information for prior brides whose weddings are similar to yours in terms of size. I would also advise using wedding books or guides for lists of questions to ask each vendor.
