Be prepared to be wowed by paper – we have tons of pretty coming your way! When we saw Abigail and Matt’s DC wedding featured in Style Me Pretty, we knew their very-DC paper details needed their own feature! Abigail and Matt wanted their wedding stationery to reflect them and turned to Kristy Rice of Momental Designs to make that happen. Kristy designed one-of-a-kind pieces featuring her signature hand painted watercolor with letterpress. Elegant patriotism, history and politics paired with soft feminine, floral and pink touches make for a truly unique set of invites and more!
From Abigail: During my first conversation with Kristy Rice , I explained that when it came to the style of our wedding, I would be lying if I said I were a “no frills” kind of girl. I loved flowers, hearts and yes – the color pink. That being said, I also expressed a desire for a stylish and sophisticated feel – one that also displayed elements that were most important to Matt and to us – a love of history, politics, patriotism and an appreciation for the city that brought us together. Our invitation – a feminine, patriotic tri-fold invitation that was full of blooms and displayed our favorite DC monuments – brought the theme of our wedding to life.
Next, we went to work on creating other wedding stationery that included tables names of historical political parties; a recreation of a vintage political poster of a hot air balloon; stately seating cards, and our very own wedding dinner “ballot” complete with presidential menu verbiage. Our guests were blown away by the originality and hand-painted details throughout our wedding stationary, and we couldn’t have been happier with the results.
Thank you so much Abigail and Matt for sharing your custom paper googies with us! If you love this as much as we do, go to Kristy’s blog and see more of her behind the scenes feature on Abigail and Matt’s paper goods. It is unreal! And, if you are in the market for hand painted wedding invitations, be sure to check out Momental Designs.
