It is day two of the best in Washington DC weddings! We did the classic DC wedding yesterday, but don’t forget that our nation’s capital is home to loads of non-traditional weddings as well. So, next up is a round up of our favorite non-traditional real weddings that we featured this past year.
One of the most unique weddings that we saw this year was a Steampunk inspired wedding! What’s Steampunk you ask? A combination of industrial, science fiction and romantic (think Victorian/19th century period!) elements for a mechanical chic theme. Alison and Eric pulled it all together in a very colorful and happy way for their wedding in DC. Anne of A Trendy Wedding and Kelly of Capital Décor and Events helped Alison and Eric bring to life their industrial vision to life. And the best part? We featured their wedding video by Zinnia Films and their pictures by Love Life Images for double the mechanical fun!

This courthouse wedding took our breath away with one of the most stunning shots! Along with photographer Amber Wilkie, Emilie and Zack hit a few local spots for photos around the National Mall before ending their evening with dinner and a concert!

Paper pinwheels! Seinfeld-inspired favors! Carnival ride tables! Where do we begin with Abbey and Nick’s whimsical wedding from Red Shoes Photography?! Their wedding could have only happened at Glen Echo Park in Maryland! This fun-loving couple made sure that every last detail reflected their relationship and weren’t afraid to cut out traditional wedding elements that didn’t!

I told you we love the non-traditional here in the DMV! Which one is your favorite?? Come back all week (and later this morning) for more of the best in Washington DC weddings.
