Today’s eco-friendly Maryland wedding is sure to be a hit with the foodies among us! Jessie and Jeremy wanted their wedding menu to reflect their green lifestyles and turned to La Prima Catering to turn their vision into a reality. La Prima Catering partnered with Open Book Farm to provide entirely grown to order, farm-to-table foods in the first wedding reception of their Seeds to Celebration program! And from the looks of the photos by Lauren C Photography below, everything looks seriously delicious!
From Kimberly at La Prima Catering: When Jeremy and Jessie came to us asking to incorporate their green lifestyles into planning their wedding, we started thinking big. We thought; why not take our green practices and organic farm-to-table gardening to the next level? We began by talking to local farmers about the idea of a grown to order wedding, where the entire menu is customized around the season.
By planning their wedding for late September, the eco-friendly bride and groom were able to harness the most out of the growing season, with a menu full of organically grown garden greens, farm-raised chickens and locally sourced dairy products.

On their special day, the guests could not stop raving to the bride and groom about the excellent fresh selections including tomato basil bruschetta, pear goat cheese puffs, broccoli cheddar soup, kale salad with feta cheese, cherries and walnuts, roasted pumpkin, seared baby bok choy and of course, the desserts: olive oil cake, fresh berries and locally sourced ice cream.
By thinking sustainably and remembering to compost, we ended the night with just one bag of trash! Overall, we vote that it was a success and we cannot wait to do it again!
