Happy October everyone! Today, we have an elegant black tie wedding in Maryland from Egomedia Photography, with a super fun twist. That twist? Stick figures. Oh yes, you read that right. Stick figures happen to have played a big part in Lindsay and Brian’s engagement and you’ll see them pop up throughout their ceremony and reception (Coming up next!). Read more about this sweet story below, and enjoy this picturesque spring wedding that goes right along with it!

From Lindsay: We incorporated our engagement story into the wedding. The inspiration for Brian’s engagement is reflected in the invitations, program, menu and wedding favors.

And we loved their engagement story so much, we had to share a little piece!

Months prior to their engagement, Brian and Lindsay went to New York City for the annual Armory Art Show. While there, they found a piece of art they both loved by Bart Stolle titled “Boy / Dog.” As more admirers than collectors, they took a picture of the piece and continued on with the show. Later that spring, Brian took Lindsay to the Clifton Inn in Charlottesville, Virginia, to celebrate her 28th birthday (and she suspected also a possible engagement). Upon their arrival, there was a carefully gift wrapped item sitting in their hotel room. The present was large in size, but not very deep. To Lindsay this could mean only one thing – her birthday gift was art!

As she opened it and saw the gift she thought to herself, first, that Brian had gotten the piece from the art show and then, second, that there was something wrong because it wasn’t the same piece and had something stuck in it. Brian was anxiously waiting for what to him seemed like an eternity before Lindsay realized it was a homemade piece of “art” with a stick figure proposing to her with a real engagement ring embedded in it. Finally, she burst out, “Oh my God it’s real!” (meaning the ring, not the artwork), and gladly said “Yes!”
