Hang onto your sweet tooth today, because we are sharing a recipe for homemade peanut butter fudge! We were just talking out of town bags for your wedding. To save a little money on out of town bags, one of the suggestions was to write a note to your wedding guests along with a box of homemade treats like cookies…or fudge! Pam, owner of Atrendy Wedding, shared with me (and now you!) her grandmother’s fudge recipe along with some pretty pictures from Terra Dawn Photography. A homemade baked good like fudge is a simple DIY wedding project that you can do well in advance of the big day – just pop the fudge in the freezer! In addition to out of town bags, you could also wrap it up and use as a favor for your guests or bake it up for a bridal shower. The options are endless and the treat even sweeter!
From Pam: I decided to do a DIY wedding favor project. I wanted it to be a personal, so I called my grandmother Betty and asked for her peanut butter fudge recipe. When I was a little girl I remember her making it all the time. She put a lot of love into it, so I wanted to share it. I remember standing on my tip toes and watching her put all the fun ingredients in the pan. The aroma spread through her house it brought back wonderful memories making it.
Peanut Butter Fudge Recipe
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup evaporated milk
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 1/2 cup peanut butter
Combine ingredients, except for peanut butter, into pot on stove. Boil for 2 minutes. Add in peanut butter and keep stirring until all mixed together. Pour mixture into pan and flatten. Let rest for 2 hours before cutting.
Thanks so much, Pam, for sharing your recipe and idea for simple, DIY wedding favors or out of town bag stuffers. If you are looking for a wedding planner in the Washington DC area, be sure to check out Atrendy Wedding.
