I’m excited to share a Maryland wedding today from Jessica Fike Photography at a venue that we have never featured before on the blog! Jackie and Kendall wed at The Delaplaine Visual Arts Education Center in Frederick, MD – a venue that offered an upscale art gallery feel with a budget friendly price tag. They incorporated family and friends in every aspect of their nuptials, and kept their palette simple, letting the colors of the art do the talking. Those show-stopping anemones will never fail to take my breath away, and be sure to head back here this afternoon for their reception, which shows just how beautiful an all-white wedding can be!

From Jackie: Our wedding was “us”… simple, elegant, and memorable. We were married by our close friend. We wanted to get married somewhere unique but inexpensive, so we decided to have at a community arts center/gallery. I wore my great grandmother’s ring down the aisle. My brother was my “man of honor” and the night before the wedding I gave him a pair of shoes with a letter written on the bottom of them thanking him for standing by my side.

Kendall and I wrote our vows word for word. On our wedding day, when it came time for him to say “I do” he froze! I could see it in his eyes. Instead he said “yeah!” And of course I followed with a “yeah!” too. Later he told me that he didn’t think it was time for the “I do” and he didn’t want to say it yet because it was so special, and yes was too formal so he just said yeah! Everyone laughed… and some people actually thought it was planned!

I wanted to have a wedding and walk down the aisle, but not go broke doing it! However, I did spend quite a bit on my blue Kate Spade pumps! I needed a high comfy shoe because my husband is 6’4″ and didn’t want to have aching feet all night.. so I got a quality pair of shoes!
