DIY bride alert! Today’s bride, Jennifer, got her DIY on for her gorgeous spring Virginia wedding to Jeremy, captured by Krista Jones Photography. Her fresh color palette of purples and greens was popped with lots of fun custom details, like those poms below. But what caught my eye even more? The seriously stunning scalloped lace on her dress. Take a look, you’ll fall in love too, then head back later for a ton of handcrafted reception fun!
From Jennifer: We were hoping for an elegantly simple wedding. I decided I wanted to use eggplant and clover. From there we chose our flowers–calla lilies and orchids. Our florist was amazing and extremely affordable. We chose to use those as our base colors then we chose orange as a pop of color…I love rich, bold colors.
I loved the lace on my dress…and I’m NOT a lace-person!
Our main priority was to keep it simple, meaningful, and fun….to make it a day we would truly enjoy and look back on with fond memories. We wanted it to be elegant but not so complicated that it stressed us out and we couldn’t enjoy! We weren’t planning to spend the amount we did on our reception, but it was well worth it and still way below what we would have spent elsewhere.
