We’re back for part two of Jennifer and Jeremy’s DIY Virginia wedding from Krista Jones Photography. (Did you miss the ceremony?) Jennifer gives you quite the rundown of her crafty projects, from the place cards that double as favors to the DIY table numbers to the wishing pots! I’ll let her do the talking and the modern colors do the popping from here.

From Jennifer: We used a corkboard frame Jeremy made for me with our “engagement cork” to display photos. I stamped the “Make a Wish” cards so our guests could “plant” well wishes and warm advice for us in the potter. We created our guest book on Snapfish with photos of our outings and asked our guests to sign the photobook. We made the table numbers with frames from Target and scrapbooking paper. We wanted our guests’ favors to be memorable as well. We purchased seed packets and placed heart-shaped seed paper inside the packets. We printed instructions for the back so our guests could plant the paper and hopefully flowers would bloom as a memory of the special day. The front of the packet served as their place card, and it was sealed with a ribbon. (Krista took some pics of these) The place cards were “planted” in potters with moss as guests entered the reception area.

We had the greatest time. I even broke out with Young MC’s ‘Bust a Move’. My girlfriends that I used to karaoke with (very embarrassing to admit!) told Dan, our DJ, that it was my favorite song. He played it, and I started singing. Then my friend Jasen brought me the microphone. It was a good time, we were all up dancing! Jeremy and I literally danced the entire night…

Jennifer’s advice to other DC-area couples:

Jeremy and I researched a few venues online and visited two of them. Because we wanted to get married outside, we chose the one that had the best Plan B in case of rain. Luckily, we didn’t have to resort to it, but feeling comfortable with it caused no stress at all!
