Jeanne and Sean picked the perfect colors for a winter wedding in Baltimore, purple and black! Yes, they happen to be the Ravens colors, which meant this wedding palette didn’t end at the church door! Jeanne and Sean fused tradition with modern quirks and fun. You’ll have to wait until their reception to see the flirty and dramatic George Peabody Library where guests enjoyed dinner and dancing, but for now take a peek into Jeanne and Sean’s classic, family-infused ceremony from The Happy Couple Wedding Photography.

From Jeanne: Our wedding style was Baltimore fun and formal! The Baltimore Ravens were in the NFL playoffs the weekend we got married so the city was lit up in purple and black (our colors) and we picked rather formal venues and kept with big traditions, but had fun with the details of our wedding. We didn’t have a specific vision when we started out, but our wedding ended up reflecting us perfectly. As the wedding planning process confirmed, we’re pretty traditional but are also quirky and fun-loving. So we stuck with traditional mainstays (getting married at a church, not seeing each other before the ceremony) and had fun with the accents and details (food choices, drinks, cake).

One of our favorite aspects of the ceremony was having a ring blessing. We had our parents, grandparents and aunts and uncles join the bridal party up front to form a circle with us and our officiant. Each person in our circle was able to say a prayer/blessing silently as they held our ring plate and our wedding rings and then passed it around until it got back to Deacon Fritz for his blessing of the rings. It was touching to see our closest family and friends blessing our marriage. We also asked one of our bridesmaids, Donlanda Pyles, to sing “His Eye is On the Sparrow” as our homage to Sean’s mom, Nola, who passed away in 2006. That was a really moving moment.
