Welcome back for part two of Kristen and Jeptha’s urban and intimate Washington DC wedding. (Don’t miss their downtown DC wedding ceremony, first!) Keeping with their art gallery feel, everything about their reception was kept simple and white, highlighting the art on the walls and their fun chalkboard menus and signs. Friends, family and great food, all just a hop, skip and a jump away from their DC home made this reception truly personal and special.

From Kristen: The venue felt very personal for us as part of our neighborhood: Long View Gallery (which is literally right around the corner from our home) has the intimacy, character and the open feel we were looking for in a ceremony and reception venue. Living so close to the venue was helpful and felt cozy on the big day and we loved that on our wedding day, just like any other day at the gallery, there would be an exhibition in progress with art on the walls

Kristen’s advice to other DC-area couples:

My number one piece of advice for brides: maintain confidence in your decisions and tastes as a couple. There is a seemingly endless supply of inspiration (and opinions) when it comes to weddings.. once you have made a selection (your dress, your venue, any of it) do not fall into the trap of second-guessing yourself! Also, involve and trust your partner to take on large parts of the planning and execution. You will both be happy to have pulled off such an amazing day – together!
