Hello again for part two of Christine and Dimitrios’ classic purple and gray Virginia wedding. (Did you see their stunning wedding ceremony at the Hotel Monaco?) The gorgeous purple florals made their way into every corner of their reception, from the tables to the open bar. Culture found it’s place at their celebration where guests enjoyed dancing to Greek music, in honor of Dimitrios’ family. Christine let us know that fun was her main priority, and she certainly achieved that

From Christine: My main priority was fun, we decided early on to have an open bar. We also loved our venue choice because it was spacious but still had an intimate atmosphere that was welcoming to our guests.

While wedding planning, my husband and I discovered that my dad called me sunshine growing up and his mom called him sunshine (in Greek!) growing up! I always knew that “You are the sunshine of my life” by Stevie Wonder would be my father-daughter dance song and since neither my husband or I love being the center of attention we decided to combine our dances. It turned out to be a very special moment for all four of us!

We also had our DJ play Greek music from my mother-in-law’s island, everyone had so much fun with it!

Christine’s advice to other DC-area brides:

My advice would be to find good vendors (I LOVED all of mine and would highly recommend them all!) and use them as a resource. Along with my online perusing, my vendors were my best resource because they have seen everything when it comes to weddings. I bounced so many ideas off of all of them and they always gave me straight answers. I could not have planned my wedding without them.
