It’s time to check out the crafty details in part two of Stephanie and Hoang’s Virginia wedding from Connor Studios. (If you missed their ceremony, find it here!) There was certainly no shortage of fun here, with handmade mustache escort cards, a delicious display of late-night treats and a glow stick getaway all amidst an sophisticated black and white palette.

From Stephanie: The yarn balls used for decoration on the tables and mantel were made by my mother and myself. They took about a day and a half one weekend. It was a project she had done with my brother and me when we were little. I wanted to take that memory of one of my favorite craft times and make it modern and romantic.

Hoang and I were part of a group of friends in college that were a family away from home. We refer to ourselves as “The Grovers” having lived on Grove Ave. Our wedding was the first time since around 2004 that all of us were together at one time. Our wedding had an aura of deep love to it that lasted all day and I’ll remember for the rest of my life.

Stephanie’s advice to other DC-area couples:

Have an event planner! Even if you have someone that is day of help or a partial planner, it makes everything easier. I loved ours, Megan. She took care of anything I needed and made sure we had everything lined up. I was so relaxed on my wedding day it wasn’t until I was walking up to the ceremony sight before the wedding started that it hit me I was getting married! Then she calmed the little nerves I had by saying a very simple, casual, “let’s go for a walk” when it was my turn to head down the aisle with my father as she lifted the back of my dress.
