Who’s ready for a little glamour today? Lisa and Bernard’s black tie affair, captured by Laurie Bracewell Photography, had a rich palette of deep purples and olive greens amidst a historic backdrop. With four family members, including the groom, having served in the Navy, it was very important to the couple to hold their wedding at Decatur House because of it’s naval significance. Add in a dash of romance, and you have the recipe for a historic and glamorous affair.
From Lisa: I would describe our wedding as a religious and romantic theme. Our vision was to have a romantic wedding in a historic setting. We translated the inspiration into the colors – eggplant for the bridesmaids dresses and olive accents throughout the wedding.
One of our main priorities was making our guests feel comfortable. We served Peach iced tea upon the guests’ arrival.
One of my favorite memories was an acapella rendition of Amazing Grace during our ceremony by a lovely local vocalist, Juana Sky.
