Our celebration of major league baseball’s opening day tomorrow continues with part two of this awesome Nationals Park wedding from Bellwether Events and Ralph Alswang Photography. After everyone took a turn at the batting cages (Did you miss it? Check out the fun and games right here!) they headed to the PNC Diamond Club within the stadium for dinner and dancing. But not just any old dinner and dancing. How does a hot dog bar and presidential party crashers sound? The couple put their philosophy for their day best, “We just wanted everyone to have fun. The wedding is for us, but the party is for them.” And what a baseball-filled party it was!
From Janice of Bellwether Events: Red carnation pomanders designed by Petal’s Edge adorned the dining tables, and flanked the red and white “baseball” pomander on the escort card table. When the newlyweds were first introduced, two groomsmen brought in the Muppets – custom-made and dressed for the occasion. After the muppets were seated, the real newlyweds joined the party.
Dinner was a fun and festive buffet of traditional ballpark food, including hot dog station. Dessert included a cheese “cake” and cupcakes from Baked & Wired, topped with striped pennant flags.
After dessert, more special guests arrived – the Racing Presidents – George, Abe, Thomas and of course Teddy. They brought down the house with all the guests on the dance floor. The night was topped off with root beer floats and lots of dancing to the stylings of Dan Goldman from Bialek’s Music.
