Lauren and Ryan love Baltimore. So when they were planning their celebration of each other, they had to celebrate their other love too! They knew they wanted a waterfront wedding, and that’s exactly what they had. With a tribute to their beloved city and a pinch of preppy they wed on a hot summer day in Maryland, with Laura Ashbrook there to capture it all! Check out their lovely reception right here, too!
From Lauren: Our wedding was a joyful celebration of two Baltimore-loving best friends starting a life together… on one of the hottest days of the Maryland summer! We really wanted the wedding to be “us” .. which yes, isn’t very descriptive if you don’t know us, but we recognized that this day was about the celebration of our new life together and we wanted our wedding to reflect that joy. We wanted to make sure it was slightly more casual, a little bit (okay, maybe a lotta bit) preppy, on the water, and just plain fun!
Our pastor had us write down three things we loved about the other person at our rehearsal dinner and it was the first thing he shared with our friends and family during the ceremony. It was a great way of grounding us on such a whirlwind day! He didn’t tell us weeks in advance so it’s not like we tried really hard to have these beautiful, poetic speeches; just the first three things that came to our mind. It was a great moment to share with our guests and with each other!
