We’re off to Virginia for today’s wedding venue tour, and it’s quite a stunner. Oatlands Historic House and Gardens is one of Loudon County’s most magnificent estates with perfectly manicured grounds that will have you in awe. The mansion lawn and terraced gardens accommodate up to 250 people for a large and elegant reception with a backdrop reminiscent of the English countryside. With many options for ceremonies, cocktail hour and receptions, a private room within the mansion for primping and prepping, and abundant parking, this venue provides both historical grandeur, and modern convenience.
Annie and Brandon wanted a classic garden wedding, and Oatlands Historic House and Gardens Plantation was just the place to bring that feel to Virginia. They held their ceremony amidst the picturesque gardens and their reception under a tent on the front lawn, all captured by Jennifer Chase Photography. The linens mimicked the sweet, buttery color of the mansion itself, which guests have the opportunity to explore during the first few hours of the event.

Lauren and Leck married at a nearby church but took full advantage of Oatlands‘ gardens for portraits with Kristi Odom Photography prior to their tent reception their. The terraced garden is often used for cocktail hour but it’s many vignettes are ideal for couple shots and first looks. The couple also chose the front lawn as their dinner and dancing location, but it should be noted that for smaller receptions, indoor options are available in both the Mansion itself, and the Carriage House.
