We’re back with part two of Monica and Tim’s stunning Washington DC wedding from Marcella Treybig Photography. If you missed all the beautiful colors and cultural influences in their ceremony, check it out right here. Post-nuptials, lawn games were set up- including backgammon, a traditional Indian game. Guests enjoyed the couple’s favorite foods and plants-turned-placecards that doubled as favors! Avid bike riders, Monica and Tim gave a few nods to their hobby on their cake and then made a grand biking getaway!
Our main priorities for the day were the same as what’s important in our lives–food, beautiful old buildings, and being outside. The food was from our favorite Indian restaurant, Rasika. Our favorite elements were the floral garlands, the gorgeous vegan wedding cake, and the Virginia wine.
Our favorite memory was biking home from the wedding together on our decorated bikes. And maybe the fact that it was July in DC and it was 85 with no humidity.
Monica’s advice to other DC-area couples:
Prioritize what’s truly important because it gets expensive. And remember it’s just one day, and that the people there are what makes the day amazing. There’s also a lot you can do yourself… Tim did the sound himself and we had an awesome dance party , even without a human there to hit play. We also got the alcohol ourselves, some from Trader Joe’s–way cheaper this way.
