Ready to see what a collaboration between fabulous DC area vendors can really do? We give you today’s wedding inspiration, french romance meets local farm for an explosion of beauty in the form of gorgeous gowns, picturesque light and the quaintest of tablescapes. Lindsay and Shane of Readyluck rounded up local event professionals to produce this styled shoot that is sure to have all of you out there planning spring and summer weddings swooning.
From Lindsay, “Our idea spawned from the golden sun-drenched fields from childhood summers and a love for high hairdos, and fantastical dresses from Marie Antoinette by Sofia Coppola. We collaborated with the wonderful dress makers Jill Andrews and Sara Mathes of Jill Andrews Gowns and florist Ellen Frost of Local Color Flowers to help make manifest, an idea of playful exuberance in nature.”
Jill Andrews and Sara Mathes of Jill Andrews Gowns had a very unique idea for the attire. Instead of presenting perfectly finished gowns, the models wore “mock-ups,” or unfinished, raw gowns that are typically the first step of custom made dresses. Fitting with the slightly rustic theme and outdoor setting, their hope was that everyone viewing could envision their very own finishing touches on the garments. It certainly has me dreaming…
Can there be mirages, sans desert? That’s what this dreamy tablescape looks like to me. Ellen of Local Color Flowers sourced locally grown blooms from around Maryland to make this table look as if it had grown right out of the ground it’s sitting on. Candelabras exemplified the romantic French inspiration while delicate feathers peaked out of each place setting. And those lacey glass bottles, well, they speak for themselves.
