This week we’re taking some time off to celebrate the holiday with our families and get some rest before coming back strong in 2012. We’re revisiting some of our favorite content from 2011 and we had a great time this year on our virtual venue tour series. We profiled different wedding locations in the region to give you a taste of what is possible.
We’ve heard you loud and clear, engaged couples of the greater Washington, DC area. Finding a venue is the hardest part of planning your wedding. There are so many places to choose from, each location more unique than the next. While we agree that it is hard to select a location, just remember that quantity also means lots of venues to choose from! If it is a boat on the Chesapeake, a private residence in Georgetown, a campground in the mountains, a rustic barn on a Virginia winery, a grand hotel ballroom, whatever you can imagine, the right venue for you exists in the DC area, I promise!
If you are looking for a downtown Washington, DC location, the Newseum might be the spot for you with views of the Capitol Building and the entire Mall. You can see the entire virtual venue tour of the Newseum here.

We didn’t stop at one venue, but rather profiled a whole region on a tour of Orange, Virginia. If you are looking for a destination wedding minus the passports and travel drama, then you must give Orange, Virginia a look. There are many different wedding venue options – from wineries to historic sites to bed and breakfasts – to choose from to fit any style, size or budget.
If dramatic and historic Baltimore ballroom is what you envision for your wedding, then you must consider The Belvedere. You’ll have to see the entire virtual venue tour of The Belvedere to picture all that is possible in this beautiful location.
