In case you were counting, today is our one year blog birthday!  That’s right, one year ago today we launched our little baby with this intro post and this real wedding.  So much has happened in a year; it is wild how fast time flies when you are busy blogging!

In just one year, we’ve covered it all when it comes to planning a truly inspired wedding in the greater DC region.  I thought it would be fun to round up some of my personal favorite moments from this past year.  With each post that I’m remembering, I get more and more excited!  It really has been an amazing year, so we hope that you’ll take some time to look around and dig back through our archives!

The food truck movement in DC is beyond explosive, as seen in our local food truck feature.  Everyday there is a new food truck in the DC area just waiting to cater your wedding!

Keeping with the food, there are a few moments that stand out in my mind from this past year.  I’ll never forget Stephanie and Adam who scooped ice cream for their guests in place of a traditional receiving line.  What a great idea!

Krista and Jonathan‘s s’mores bar was so cozy and romantic.  I always think it is nice when there is something fun and interactive for your guests to participate in.  The s’mores bar is a total conversation starter and keeps everyone’s sweet tooth in check!

And, Lauren and Justin‘s wedding.  You can ask Nole, I talk about their wedding all the time!  Lauren and Justin had a competition BBQ team cater their wedding!  Yum!  I love a good meal and this just goes to show you that wedding food doesn’t have be formal or serious for it to be delicious and memorable!

Moving onto the fashion, a subject that is near and dear to me.  Brides in the DC area get a bad wrap for being too conservative or boring.  Au contraire!  Caroline‘s purple wedding dress was stunningly sophisticated and quite memorable in such a good way!

Emily’s dramatic bangle bracelets and French braids prove that you can be fashion forward and timeless at the same time.  Her wedding day look was hands down one of the chicest wedding day looks I’ve ever seen.  It caught my eye then and I still think about it!  Gorgeous!

There are few words to describe the beauty that is Martha‘s custom made wedding dress from Baltimore-based Jill Andrews.  It was unreal and fit her like a glove.  And, their wedding was as a glass blowing studio.  Amazing!
