Have you heard about bridal market? (For a quick tutorial, check out this bridal market 101 post we did last year at this time!) It’s fashion week for the wedding industry, when all the major wedding dress designers show off their new collections during a very hectic few days in October in New York City. We had the opportunity to travel to bridal market last week and see many of these dresses in person. We’ve rounded up a few of our favorite bridal dress trends to share with you! So, stay tuned for this post and more!
First up, dresses with sleeves! Perhaps the designers were inspired by the royal wedding, but sleeves were all over the bridal runways last week – both long and short. We are glad that dress designers are finally to give more options and starting to move away from all strapless, all the time!
I love the structural elements in the short sleeve dress from Marchesa – so modern! The gowns from Junko Yoshioka are also incredibly modern and incorporate beautiful fabrics that have to be seen in person to be truly appreciated. The Alfred Angelo gown would be perfect for a wedding at one of the DC area’s many historic manors, and the Monique Lhuillier cap sleeve gown looks like something straight out of a Jane Austen novel.
We’ve got more beautiful gowns coming up in just a bit, so check back soon! In the meantime, you can see our other posts on bridal market here.
