Today’s virtual venue tour is awesome and you know how we love literary anything! Want to marry at a historic mansion amongst history and opulence? Then you must check out the Evergreen Museum & Library, one of Johns Hopkins University’s spectacular wedding venues located just 10 minutes from Baltimore’s Inner Harbor. The options are endless for spring and summer weddings here, with beautiful gardens and an outdoor patio, and weddings year round can enjoy the museum’s historical indoor space options.
For Lindsey and Tim’s June wedding, the outdoor ceremony and reception options were perfect. They wed in the museum’s expansive meadow (which can also accommodate a seated reception of up to 500!) and utilized the Main House for their exquisite portraits from Merkle Photography. They then moved to the space’s Carriage House where guests dined both on the tented patio and inside the picturesque house.

Seth and Alyssa also chose the Carriage House for their dinner and dancing reception. But, first they held their cocktail hour in the utterly elegant Upper Garden, yet another venue option of the Evergreen Museum, located just outside the main house while they snapped portraits at the Main House nearby with Jubilee Photography. They embraced the spring season, and the venue’s provided tent with lots of white and simple pops of yellow, because who needs a lot of decor when you have a space like this?!

That above statement seems there may have been some miscommunication. I had the exact opposite experience, today, in fact.
I visited the grounds this morning and met with the wedding coordinator. She was charming, helpful and efficient. She answered every question and anticipated most of them before we asked. She seemed calm, collected and like just the right woman to help with the stressful process of planning a wedding. In short, I couldn’t have been more impressed or comfortable.
However, there is a sign posted on the grounds that says no dogs. Other than that, she let us know that the day was ours and however we wanted i to be was just how it would be. Little to no limitations on decorating, lighting, candles, etc.
Overall, I loved the venue, the staff and my experience. I am putting in my contract tomorrow. As we walked to the car, I literally jumped up and down with excitement.
If you have any interest in this venue, I highly advise you to give it your own chance. Truly spectacular.
Andrea – Thank you so much for sharing your experience at Evergreen Museum with other United With Love readers. Obviously, not every venue is for every couple and we appreciate you sharing this with us. Thank you! Julianne
i hate to throw people under the bus… but we contact them, along with just about every venue in the baltimore metro area, and the staff were not very polite at all. it was very important for us to have our dog in the ceremony, which we wanted outside, and you would’ve thought we asked them to have tigers on the grounds. i understand there is a liability concern, but they already require you to have a million dollar umbrella for the day of, trust me, this would cover any potential mishap. at the end of the day i understand it is their venue, and their policy, but they didn’t have to be rude about it either.
