If you want to go glamorous and regal, without going over the top, for your wedding then you are in luck, because we have some inspiration for you today!  Stephanie, owner of Bradshaw Styling, designed a wow-able tablescape for a recent Baltimore Bride magazine event.  She teamed up with a few fabulous Baltimore-area wedding vendors for a glam goddess themed tablescape.  And, let me tell you the pictures from Love Life Images and Meaghan Elliot Photography don’t lie: this table is truly glamorous and fit for a goddess!  If you are wondering where the wedding event designers get their ideas and how they pull it off, Stephanie is with us today to share the details on how she put together her glam goddess theme table design.  Take it away, Stephanie:

Our inspiration for this year’s Baltimore Bride’s Aisle Style Wedding Event came from our brand-new styling studio, a cozy 400-square-foot workspace that embodies a “living glamorously every day” mantra.  We wanted to create a place that was chic and glossy, albeit functional and calming, so that visitors would be excited to see more from the Bradshaw Styling team.

Having just moved into our new space at the beginning of the year, we were working on this tablescape design and the studio simultaneously, so we were finding inspiration everywhere; we pulled from fashion magazines, pieces of vintage jewelry, light fixtures and paint colors.  We commissioned custom art from a local artist who worked from a palate made up of our favorite colors: gold, ivories, creams and pops of turquoise.  Our inspiration board (we call it our ‘Happy Board’) was loaded with crystals, shimmering gold fabrics and couture fashion; it set the scene for a truly breathtaking design.

Baltimore Bride magazine’s Aisle Style Wedding Event is one of our favorite bridal shows, so we knew we had to pull out all the stops when it came to creating a vignette inspired by our own workspace.  Carla David Design incorporated the custom artwork from our studio by importing the piece’s hand-painted shapes onto our gold embossed menu cards and place cards.

One of the more extraordinary elements of the glam goddess vignette was the table setting, provided by Radcliffe Jewelers.  The gold-rimmed china shined against a neutral, metallic tablecloth (our office drapes sport a similar pattern) and provided splashes of color to draw the eye to the delicate detailing of the dessert plates.

The team at Wicked Willow re-purposed vintage earrings into jeweled posts that added hints of glimmer amongst the monochromatic centerpieces – a mix of ivory and cream garden roses and fluffy hydrangea.  Our bejeweled napkin rings were another style element – draping them over the chair-backs as if they were broaches (some things are just too pretty to place under a plate!)

Timeless Glamour
The glam goddess vignette embodied a timeless glamour that (save for the bread and cheese!) will be gorgeous for years to come.  Using muted golds and hints of black make this design modern and elegant without being unapproachable.

People, Parties and Places
One of the most exciting parts about designing this vignette was imagining who would be sitting at the table (and more importantly) what they would be wearing!  At Bradshaw Styling, we dress people, parties and places, so it was only fitting that we display a delicate gold silk dress by Vera Wang with our inspiration board.  It was exactly what we would wear – cheers!

Tips for creating a glam table:

  • Find inspiration everywhere.  Your wardrobe is a great place to start, because those are the colors you feel great in.  Look outside your window and allow your surroundings to inspire you as well.
  • Build a color palette around three colors.  Chose the color you love most and start with that one.  Then select a grounding, (often neutral shade) and add in a “pop” color to finish.
  • Don’t be afraid to take risks – pushing yourself to try something new will only make you more confident the next time around.
  • Consider the experience you want your guests to have and work backwards.  Ask yourself how you want them to feel, what you want them to see and smell.  Then design the table with the answers to those questions in mind.
  • Don’t forget great lighting, good music and fabulous accessories!
