There is one spot in all of Washington, DC that we know your guests will have no trouble getting to: Union Station. No excuses for being late to a wedding at DC’s bustling train station! Guests can arrive by train, Metro, foot, car, bus, Capital Bikeshare, and taxi. Everything but airplanes pass through Union Station.
Since its opening in 1908, Union Station has served as an iconic landmark in Washington, DC. With huge ceilings, ornate architectural details, and vast staircases, Union Station is a dramatic venue for weddings in Washington DC. Union Station offers two possible wedding locations, the Columbus Club and the East Hall, and has the ability to accommodate guest lists from 50 to 350. Union Station only hosts one special event per night, so regardless of your party’s size, this will ensure that you will be the main event. Design Cuisine is the exclusive caterer.
Bizzy and Michael’s wedding by A. Dominick Events and photographed by Armin DeFiesta shows off the dramatic East Hall with its 30 foot ceilings. There are endless ideas for little DC details and touches that you can do, like the Metro themed table numbers in Bizzy and Michael’s wedding. (Visit here for more on the Metro inspired accents from this wedding.)

In addition to an actual wedding, we also love the idea of doing an engagement session at Union Station. Talk about a classic DC landmark! Whether outdoors or indoors, Union Station is ripe with photo opportunities. Derrick and Meghan’s gorgeous engagement session with Stephen & Melissa Photography really showed off all the different spaces in the train station.
