If you are looking to plan an eco-friendly wedding or make greener choices for your wedding in the Washington, DC area there are tons of great local resources and vendors to help you along the way. Eco-Beautiful Weddings e-zine and daily blog is a great place to start looking for inspiration and ideas. They feature not only the pretty and eco-friendly weddings, but also showcase the practical. So, little things and touches that you can do to make your wedding more environmentally aware. They also have a vendor list for green vendors in the Washington DC area.
There are many local vendors who are doing a world of good with their eco-friendly ways. You could check out eco-friendly caterers like Windows or Eat & Smile Foods. There are venues like the Newseum or Nationals Park that are LEED certified, or green hotels like The Willard, or Hotel Monaco Baltimore or The Westin Annapolis (with their rooftop honey beehive). You could even go green with unique transportation ideas from Capitol Pedicabs in DC or Happy Rickshaw in Charlottesville.
