Time for another virtual venue tour and we are headed up to Bethesda, MD. Spotting Jennifer and Brian’s wedding on Mary Kate McKenna’s blog a while ago, I said, “Where is that space?!” Turns out, they were married at Strathmore in Bethesda, MD. The space was just so striking and I didn’t even notice right away that this was the same couple’s whose vineyard engagement session we featured. At the time, Jennifer said that she wanted their engagement session to be somewhere rustic, because just the opposite, their wedding venue space was modern with clean lines.
Strathmore is an arts center in Montgomery County, Maryland featuring exhibitions, concerts and other programs. For your wedding, it is one location with two different settings to choose from: the Mansion at Strathmore, and the Music Center at Strathmore. The mansion is an intimate turn-of-the-century Georgian mansion set high atop a hill, and the music center is a magnificent, light-filled modern building. Strathmore has many different spaces available on its 11-acre campus – such as the mansion, library, lounge, concert hall, and promenade – with capacity for weddings from 20 to 1,000 guests. (Although, I’m not sure I’d want to plan the 1,000-guest wedding!)
Mary Kate McKenna photographed Jennifer and Brian’s wedding at Strathmore and it was coordinated by Bellwether Events. The cake was done by Just Cakes, and Da Vinci’s Florist did the flowers and the chuppah. The fabulous lighting was done by Atmosphere Lighting.
Stunning, right? I can’t get over that dramatic lighting! Obviously, this wedding is just one of the many different styles and locations of events that you can have at Strathmore. In doing a little digging for this venue tour, I unearthed a few of their incredible outdoor spaces that are worth checking out as well.
