We first spotted this lovely (and snowy!) winter Washington DC wedding over on Brides.com, but the wedding was so cute we just had to see the entire event! Sarah and Nick were married on December 19, 2009, the same day as DC’s first blizzard of the 2009/2010 winter season. Despite more than a foot of snow, Sarah and Nick’s wedding at the Carnegie Institution of Science was an elegant affair with winter white and gold details – all captured in beautiful detail by Kelsey from k. thompson photography.
December 19 is also the anniversary of A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens. Sarah and Nick chose the novel as their wedding theme and hired carolers to perform during the cocktail hour. How fun!
The literary theme continued into the reception with these fabulous DIY table numbers using hardcover books.
