Most of us think of DC and its surroundings as home, but DC also makes a wonderful location for destination weddings! Today’s couple lives in London but chose DC for their Scottish-Jewish nuptials this past September. Pavaune and her team at Invited helped Rachel and Andy plan a wedding with lots of fun details, with the entire day captured by Egomedia Photography.
From Pavaune: This was a DC wedding, with a Scottish groom and a Jewish bride both based in London! They decided on DC as the location for their wedding, and we took over from there! They had a gorgeous “Jewish-ish” (the bride’s coined term) wedding at the Sofitel Hotel in Washington, DC. Since the groom is Scotland, there were a number of things that we HAD to include, such as a bagpiper piping them down the aisle, a traditional Scottish fruit cake for the wedding cake, and white heather. The heather lined the huppah and also made an appearance on the cake, escort cards and menus! We also were able to have traditional cèilidh band and dancing for the first hour of the reception, as well as (of course!) a Hora!
Such a fun destination wedding in DC!
