Our first wedding in Baltimore today might be the most stylish wedding we’ve ever featured, and it’s also a winter wedding! Joy and Mark were married at The Belvedere in Baltimore’s historic Mount Vernon neighborhood last December (happy almost anniversary you two!), and the wedding is full of vintage-inspired details from the bride’s birdcage veil to the peacock feather bouquets to the men’s classic tuxedos. We’re absolutely thrilled to share this gorgeous wedding, with photography by Love Life Images.
From Joy: When planning my wedding I was definitely inspired by the modern vintage culture that is very prevalent in blog land right now (think Rachel Ashwell meets Great Gatsby); after the ceremony my hope was that the evening would feel more like a swanky cocktail party and less like a wedding reception.
I kept this goal in mind while making decisions like having my bridesmaids each wear their favorite strapless LBD (little black dress), using feather plumes in lieu of any flowers, and having food available all evening so that people could eat at their leisure as they mingled and danced rather than have a sit down dinner. In the end, though, it was all just details that enhanced the luster of the beginning of my marriage to Mark.

I love that Joy and Mark chose a standing ceremony in a small room – so intimate!
