For couples getting married in the DC area in winter, it can be a bit tough to find floral options that don’t cost a complete arm and leg. One of my favorite floral ideas for any season just happens to work perfectly in winter – raw cotton! These soft pillows of fluffy white cotton look gorgeous as a bouquet and stunning as boutonnieres, and can fit any wedding style from rustic to modern to the most formal black tie affair.

Raw cotton even looks amazing as a wedding centerpiece idea!

Your wedding florist can usually find raw cotton either locally or through a wholesale distributor – so just be sure to ask at your next consultation! And if you’re still on the hunt for a floral designer in the area, don’t forget to check out our DC area wedding professionals guide!
P.S. That super cute bowtie in the top photo can be found at Southern Proper. Enjoy!

I LOVE the cotton hanging overhead outside. Such a great idea!
I’m in love with the bow tie and the cotton boutonniere with the twine wrap! Great unique inspiration.
